A new year is just around the corner. The old one will be coming to an end in a few days. When you look back, you will recognize many things that probably make you feel uneasy, but also many things that you would like to remember, hold on to or simply be proud of.
Take the leap into the new year as a RESET.
Leave the unpleasant and bad things behind, as far as possible. There are things that you can no longer change, no matter how much you think about them or mourn them. It is what it is. Holding on to it or even despairing would still not change anything, but it would paralyze and slow you down, perhaps even break you. Accept the unchangeable, no matter how terrible it is for you. Find your footing and look ahead.
Take the good and beautiful with you. Put it down as a kind of starting block for the new route in 2025. Don’t overdo your planning. You don’t know so many things that you will encounter this year that may slow you down or spur you on, redirect you or even steer you in a completely new direction. Be open to whatever comes your way, be it unpleasant or beautiful. A tree within protected walls will quickly fall over if it is exposed to violent storms. A tree that has grown up in strong winds will also withstand massive storms.
Incidentally, we can never steer and guide everything ourselves. We encounter far too many unknowns in this volatile world. You can’t know everything, you can never do everything right. But there is someone who is waiting for you with open arms. He loves you with all his heart and wants to stand by you in all things, if you let him.
It is JESUS CHRIST, who came into our world 2000 years ago and paid the price of sin for us. This is eternal death, being separated from God forever. HE paid your debt in full before you even existed. There is not the slightest debt left. Your body will die, but your spirit, your real self, your personality, can never die.
The only question that remains is where will you spend this eternity? Will you be separated from God or will you live in his presence? Accept the redemption for you personally, which Jesus already accomplished for us a long time ago. If HE is allowed to reign in your life, then you have overcome this eternal death, then you are a child of God.
Talk to him in prayer. Confess your guilt and sins to him, turn from them and make him the Lord of your life. Let him determine your path. Then you will have become a child of God, he will forgive your sins and you will have eternal life with God. This is what we commonly call heaven.
HE has paid the price of your sin. However, you alone decide whether you accept this redemption and become a child of God. My tip: do it, it’s worth it. It’s best to talk to him right now!
